The award-winning Ulster Folk and Transport Museum offers delegates a stroll into the past, exploring how people lived and travelled over the centuries.   

The Transport Museum

Gala dinner in the Irish Railway GalleryTravel by steam train to one of Europe’s top transport museums and enjoy a unique occasion in one of the award-winning galleries where Ireland’s most comprehensive transport collections are displayed, including the Irish Railway Collection, Road Transport Galleries, Flight Experience and Titanic Exhibition.  The Irish Railway Collection is a spectacular area for black-tie events, awards ceremonies, themed evenings, presentations and corporate social evenings.

The Folk Museum

The Museum’s Ballycultra Town and Rural areas offer the opportunity to experience at first hand a typical Ulster town and rural area of around 1910.  Costumed visitor guides bring to life houses, farms, a bank, pub, shops, schoolhouses, old rectory, silent cinema and Edwardian Tearoom.

Street entertainment in Ballycultra TownDelegates are offered the opportunity to take part in various traditional Irish activities and a range of outdoor pursuit activities is also available within the 175-acre grounds.  Groups of up to 300 people can be accommodated for social evenings, depending on the nature of the venue and function. 

Daytime corporate incentives and fun days can also be tailored to requirements for numbers ranging from 100 to 10,000 peopl. 

Gilford Silent Cinema and Ballycultra Tearoom

Gilford Tearoom arranged for dinnerDine in period elegance in the Ballycultra Tearoom, newly opened in 2007.  The Tearoom provides an intimate setting, with interiors furnished in Edwardian splendour.

 

 

Smoked Salmon first courseExquisite table settings and an excellent menu selection combine with Edwardian elegance to provide a special and memorable evening. 

Evenings can be arranged for up to 100 people (seated) and up to 150 for receptions.

Adjoining the Tearoom, situated in the heart of Ballycultra Town, the working silent cinema is equipped with IT and AV capacity and can seat up to 120 people theatre-style.

Cultra Manor

Cultra ManorAt the heart of the Museum, overlooking Belfast Lough, the Manor is an ideal venue for groups of 10 to 300, for meetings, conferences, seminars, team building and product launches, including a variety of break-out meeting rooms.

Conference or gala dinners in the Railway Gallery (300 seated), with a variety of entertainment, such as silks performers, acrobats and live music.

Arrival of delegates to the Transport Museum via working steam train.

Traditional Irish musiciansBarbeques, cocktail receptions and social occasions in Ballycultra Town, with costumed visitor guides, demonstrations of traditional crafts and skills, horse and cart rides and traditional Irish music.
